PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

 

To undertake a procurement exercise for adaptation of the former Woodfield Primary School, Harrogate, to create new special school provision for autistic children aged 11 – 19 years.

 

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

 

The scheme forms part of the CYPS Special Provision Capital Programme.

 

A competitiveprocurement exercise will be undertaken between February and June 2024.  The scheme is programmed to commence on site in October 2024 and is due to complete May 2025.

 

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

 

This is a key decision.  The proposal to procure was entered on the forward plan in December 2023.

 

The procurement exercise will be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules and the Public Contracts Regulations 2015

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That a procurement exercise be progressed for the project to create a secondary autism school in Harrogate.
